What is a Missional Millennial?

What is a “Millennial”?

Millennials is a generational term. It is anyone born between 1980 and 2000. I have chosen this term as the focus of my blog, because though technically I am a college pastor at a college ministry called Adorn, my heart is for those who fit into that generational boundary—in fact, having been born in 1980, I am a Millennial too. That’s why you will hear me using the term Millennials on this blog, and not “college students.”

Why should Millennials be “on Mission”?

Because Jesus Christ has called all Millennials in every part of the world who call on his name to be ambassadors who will represent him in the real world in which they live. We are on mission because we have a divine mission.

What makes a “Millennial on Mission”?

I have spent the past three years with a community of Millennials that meet weekly in Santa Barbara county to grow deeper in Jesus Christ. As we have learned with each other what it means to be a part of Jesus’ mission in our city and in the world, I have come across four characteristics in this group that best describes a Millennial on Mission (as close as we can get, as least).

If you don’t know where to start on the blog, you can check out the four elements of a Millennial on Mission in separate posts below…

  1. Identity
  2. Worship
  3. Community
  4. Evangelism

If this resonates with you, let’s connect and talk about it!
