College Summer Getaway!

Tomorrow night fifty-four of us will be leaving directly after Adorn for a weekend at Lake Nacimiento! We will obviously be tearing up the lake on the usual toys, but we will also be immersing ourselves deep into the Word of God and worship, as we study the “Dichotomy of Christ,” and by grace, fall more in love with Him :-)

Adorn to attend Reality LA this morning

Photobucket

Within the Reality Coastlands circles, there has always been a wonderful sense of tight-knit community. This is a sweet thing that was created by God from the very beginning of the church.

  • The respective pastor of the new church first begins by moving the the home town of the “sending” church, and
  • Works in the community in a non-ministry oriented job.
  • The second year (usually), they are taken on staff and immersed in the fellowship of the church, where the community that is sending them gets to know them.
  • When the time comes for the church to be birthed, the sending church sends truckloads of its own people to partner with them in prayer.

Once upon a time, this happened with Tim Chaddick and what would be known as Reality LA.

This summer, it will happen with Mark and Lizzie Dyrud and with Reality London.

In order to allow this same fellowship and passion for missions and church-birthing, and to help us break free from our parochial view of the Church, the college/young adults will be visiting Reality LA to sit under the teaching of our sister-church.

Perhaps one day, God will find in His grace to count us worthy to suffer for His mission to be famous and worshiped in all the world.

May one small step lead to the next…

Justification by Faith

I’m studying for Adorn this friday night. The text: Romans 3:21-26 (which will be posted here after), is all about the way that God justifies the sinner, while Himself remaining just.

It is a doozie.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones took 12 years to preach through Romans, and died in the middle of the 12th chapter. He once described this section of Romans as the most noble statements made in all of Scripture. I would agree, and also add “overwhelming.”

It’s the most raw form of the Gospel.

I feel so unqualified to touch something so priceless.
