Britt Merrick’s message at the Westmont College chapel on February 5th.
Staff Member Mondays = Britt Merrick
Since he needs little introduction on this blog, I’ve decided to offer a few informalities about him instead:
- He has his own avocado tree
- He hates dogs
- He likes to rough-house (usually with new recruits to the Reality staff)
- One time when we were wrestling in Jerusalem, he picked me up and slammed me against the ground three times. Then we laughed and ate Shwarma together.
- He’s coming out with a book next week, which you can learn more about here.
- He sometimes assumes the stylistic mannerisms of various church-planters as they are on staff (anyone notice the recent tight-pants, and v-neck additions to his wardrobe?)
- He used to use lotion in his hair to get his famous faux-hawk
- He’s been stoned by angry people (The stones missed of course).
- He can only be serious for so long!
- He is one of the funnest people in the world to be around.

If Benny Hinn gets to heaven, John Piper will probably leave.

Jesus stepped into the margins, and ministered to the marginalized.
And I had to say to God on Wednesday night, in the middle of the night, ‘God if you let my daughter die tomorrow, nothing changes between me and you. Nothing changes between us Jesus. I will yet praise you. You give and you take away, blessed be Your name.
